Troy and Denise Johnson genuinely love God and care about people. They are commendable church leaders who have extensive ministry experience. They are natives of southern California and have lived in Nashville, Tennessee — where they ministered on college campuses and led in music, athletic and pastoral ministry. When God made it evident to them to plant a church in the East Valley, they obeyed the Lord’s commission and relocated their family to Arizona. Soon thereafter, they founded Desert Life Church and Pastor Troy has served as its senior pastor since the inaugural service on Easter Sunday in 2001.

Troy holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A.) with distinction from Trinity College in Newburgh Indiana. He also holds a Master of Divinity Degree (M.Div.) from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg Virginia where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He is currently completing a Master of Arts in Theology (M.A.) and is enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Troy and Denise reside in Scottsdale with their four daughters.
